Ways to Join Scouting

The Indian Waters Council would like to thank you and your family for seeking a Cub Scout or Scouts BSA unit to join here in the Midlands of South Carolina.  Scouting is where they will learn positive values, new skills and have fun with friends. This page will list different opportunities for you to sign your child up for Scouting.  Register online using the link below or choose one of our Virtual Meetings or Drive-up Sign-up times.

Follow these instructions to assist you in joining

  • Click the Join Today button
  • This will take you to the BeAScout website
  • Enter your zip code
  • Select the program, Cub Scout or Scouts BSA
  • Click Find and Apply and you will see a list of units within your area
  • Select a unit the is nearest to you or meets on a day convenient to you
  • Click Apply Now and set your login information
  • Enter all the information for the application
  • Payment can be completed by credit card
  • You will receive a confirmation email withing 24 hrs.

Join Up Events

Scouting is still an active program.  Even during these difficult times, Scouts of all ages are continuing their programs full of fun and excitement.  The Indian Waters Council has set-up virtual and in-person opportunities for your family to learn more about the programs available and help you through the application process.  Below, you will see links to join a Virtual Join-up Meeting or an event that you can safely attend while following safety guidelines.  Each will help get your family started in a Scout unit near you.

You can attend a ZOOM event below to join Scouting.  Use the links to sign-up.  We will have information about each level of Scouting, share locations of local units, and lead you through the application process.

Friday, September 10th, 2021 – drop-in from 7:00 – 10:00 pm

Family Fun Night  (Richland County) 

Come out to the Kelly Mill Sports Complex (171 Bombing Range Road) to join scouting and enjoy food trucks, free bounce houses, face painting, balloon art, lawn games, a vendor fair, and more with the Richland County Recreation Commission.

September 15th, 2021, drop-in from 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Come experience more of what scouting is all about at the Family Campfire Night!  Ask questions and enjoy a scouting campfire program with songs, skits, and s’mores! Come join Scouting and have fun!
